Reflection on Sondra Perl's Essay.

Sondra Perl knows how to explain the composing process. She teaches how to plan writing by taking whatever inspires you to another level. She explains that finding your "felt sense," that is your inner bodily awareness of the topic. It is a combination of what you feel about the topic, it's meaning, the images and words that flashes before you. There is an immediate connection with your body and mind in this process of thinking and this is, as Sondra explains, the inner body feels something on the topic and the mind starts to process it. This level of thinking through the writing process is really intense, and helps you to think outside the box. I think, based on Sondra Perl's concepts on the composing process, I can become a much better writer if applied.

  1. I read your entry a couple of days ago and when you write that you plan writing by taking what inspires you to another level. I also believe that to be true and I like that you understood the meaning totally. Your point of view actually made me think about it clearer. :)

  2. Hello Denise,
I definetly agree with you that if we take the advice on "felt sense" from Sondra Perl we can become better writers. Sometimes we don't always notice our "felt sense" but with the essay Sondra Perl has offered us with, we can now be more aware of our inner voice and inner feelings as well as being aware of our images which come to mind while we write. I definetly believe we can benefit from this.

  3. Denise,
I like the way you explain felt sense so deeply and how you say that if you were to apply Pearl's concepts to your own writing that you will be a better writer. I feel that way about myself.

    Good job! =)

  4. Denise,
I liked how interesting you described 'felt sense'...and how it relates to your body and your mind. This was a good analyzation of what Pearle said.
